Ballaghadereen
Farewell farewell my native land
Farewell forever more
I now must leave you far behind
And seek a foreign shore
But very soon this ocean wide
Between us will intervene
From that dear old home
That is mine no more
Around Ballaghadereen
In cold dark ways and saxon lands
I know my joys and woes
And on a far off ocean strand
Those stately huts enclose
But Ireland is our cherished home
We see those scenes between
From that dear old home
thats mine no more
Around Ballaghadereen
Now to conclude these ill spent lines
For fear I might be late
The morning train from Balla
Starts at twentyfive past eight
Saying God be with you Ireland
You are my Starlight Ocean Queen
And a fond farewell
To all who dwell
Around Ballaghadereen
